Stripes and Gingham

Welcome to the unofficial start of Summer 2016!!!

What better way to start June off right by taking a trip to Coney Island in Brooklyn. For those of you who don’t know about this place…have you ever heard of the World Famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest? If so this contest takes place at the world famous Coney Island. As a kid and even as an adult this is the go to place in the summer. Cotton Candy, burgers, amusement park rides its a place like no other.

I decided to take a trip to this colorful place to show you how to wear stripes and gingham at the sametime. Yes, AT THE SAMETIME. Have a little fun with your wardrobe this summer. Don’t be afraid to step out of the box.

You heard this here first. I am predicting this JCrew cotton midi skirt in oversized gingham to be the skirt everyone will be wearing this summer. It is great for all body types. This skirt is long enough for the office on casual Fridays, a stroll in Central Park or to dinner on vacation.

From the moment I saw this midi skirt I knew I had to have it. Who can resist a skirt with pockets? I decided to go the unconventional way and pair it with stripes of a totally different color as the skirt.

I paired the skirt with a lemon and aqua  Saint James for JCrew short sleeve slouchy t-shirt. This t-shirt matched perfectly with my lemon stacked heel sandals.

To pull this look together I wore a beach ball bag. YES, a beach ball bag. “Why didn’t I think of this.” This bag goes perfect with this outfit because its multi colored.
