Thanksgiving has finally arrived and the holiday festivities are here. Besides my birthday this time of the year is my favorite time. Families get together, friends make new friends and love, Hope and happiness is in the air. Its a great time to be in New York City. There are soo many things to do. I plan to be apart of it all and take you along with me.

Starting today until December 25th maybe longer I will be posting and discussing holiday theme outfits. The goal is to stay chic, but comfortable. For Thanksgiving, I decided to pick up an outfit at everyones favorite place Target . Who What Wear Collection is the go to line for all things chic and comfortable.

If you haven’t noticed I have green hair…well green braids to be exact. A very popular protective style named box braids are nothing new, however adding bright colored hair is a trend them continues to rise. I’ve never had color in my hair before and decided to take a chance. I am EXTREMELY happy with the outcome and have gained the eyes of a hair site.  I had the pleasure of being interviewed by All Things Hair . I was given 6 questions  and it all pertained to my green braids and how I maintain them. Check it out!

Bye Bye Black Suit

Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK?  The holidays are upon us and before we know it 2017 will be here! This has been a fantastic year thus far and I am excited for whats to come, but we have to get through the holiday season of 2016 i.e. the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center…just to name a few things.

In order to survive the holidays your attire to say the least should be in order. You should be comfortable, yet stylish. Leave those boyfriend jeans at home and dress up a bit. I promise you it will lift your spirits and receiving compliments always helps *wink wink*. Try a suit for instance. No, not the black corporate interview suit, but one with a fun print. Fashion rules are a thing of the past, so get out of your comfort zone. Remember suits are also meant to be worn separately as well. Trust me you will thank me later!

I had the pleasure of visiting a museum in Washington, DC. Not just ANY museum, but the National Museum of African American History and Culture . This museum was everything I thought it would be and more. I feel extremely blessed once again because tickets are sold out until March 2017! The weather was great and the exhibits were even better.

The museum starts off with the way African Americans came to the United States of American and how we’ve over came over the years. From Women’s Rights, to the Afro and soooo much more. Of course it was crowded, but I am proud of who I am and  I felt like I was living through history with people that cared about our future. I can go on and on and on, but I will let the pictures do the talking.

If you ever get a chance to go to this particular museum dress comfortably and as always fashionably. I decided to wear flats instead of sneakers and jeans. Bodysuits are back along with vintage leather jackets. To complete my outfit I wrapped kente cloth around multicolor braids.
